This circa 1850-1855 iron pontiled squat has a rectangular slug plate. There are numerous variants of the Flanagen bottles and usually you find the "Bottler" examples. This short sized brown stout is much tougher. This bottle was found in a Philly privy and has only been rinsed out, never tumbled, has natural patina.
Embossed: GEO. W. FLANAGEN / BROWN STOUT
Height: 7 1/8 "
Color: deep green
Condition: Excellent - perfect structurally (no dings, chips, cracks) and pretty clean, with only spotty light wear. This would polish up nicely if you don't like the natural look. Great as is in my opinion.
