I've only seen a few of these for sale in blue over the past 40 years. It's an earlier soda with a sharply tapered applied top. The pontil on the bottom is deeply kicked up and loaded with residue. I dug this bottle in 2023 from a late 40's to early 50's layer. It was only gently rinsed out and retains all of its natural character, and is marked down because of a few fairly nominal issues for a bottle of this scarcity.
Embossed: JONES'S / MINERAL WATER / PHIL.A // J
Height: 7 1/2"
Color: steely cobalt blue
Condition: it's a dug, uncleaned bottle with patchy stain and spotty modest high point wear. But great character. The only structural issue is an old 1/2" dibbit chip off the left side near the bottom (along the seam line). No radiating harlines or anything and has full patina so doesn't detract. Only other issue is a flea nip under the collar that you need to feel to find. Check out the pontil!
