Circa 1850-1860 Walnutport PA Squat - W. SIEGFRIED / Union Glass Works

This is a really nice looking coal region squat from eastern PA. It is priced way down because a piece must have been broken away on the reverse and it was reassembled and glued. It's clean with a great mold strike, and dispays great from the front so is a decent shelf example. The pontil is robust with an iron residue ring.

Embossed: W. SIEGFRIED / WALNUTPORT // UNION GLASS WORKS / PHILA

Height:  7 5/8 "
Color: deep blue green

Condition: the bottle looks near mint from the front - pretty clean, great mold strike, and hardly any wear. Unfortunately, the reverse looks like a zombie bottle with a vertical crack running top to bottom, plus a circular area that appears to have been re-glued by a previous owner. There is also a 1/4" flake off the lip on the reverse at the top of the crack. It's all there, no holes - but this poor bottle needs some TLC after its hard life!

Reference Number:  SH444

Price: $80
