Circa 1860 Lockport Gargling Oil - Earlier Massive Size Variant
| Embossed |
GARGLING OIL / LOCKPORT, N. Y. |
| Color |
deep bluish teal green |
| Height |
7 3/8" |
| Top |
applied tee-pee shaped taper |
| Base |
smooth but with crude hammering inside the depression |
Structural Condition |
structurally fine with no chips, cracks, or bruises. But note that there are a few small in-making glass pieces stuck near the bottom of the taper top. Also, the mold seam on one side extruded through the mold to create a jagged ridge line. These are positives, not negatives, because they're character-rich features that show the crude (sloppy?) workmanship - not damage. |
| Surface Condition |
excellent - only light, spotty high point wear; and a few trace haze patches - mentioned for accuracy. |
