This is a classic Philly pontiled soda that is found in various shades of green and blue. This example is in the more vibrant "colorful" cobalt. It also has nice crudity, including a large mold fart dimple on the reverse.
I knocked about $50 off the price due to a small rough patch on the lip that is pretty minor.
Embossed |
P. CONWAY / BOTTLER / PHILAD.A // No 8 HUNTER St / & / 108 FILBERT St / MINERAL WATERS |
Color |
fairly deep cobalt but still grabs the light and commands attention with it's vibrant hue. |
Height |
7 3/8" |
Top |
applied blob top |
Base |
heavily frosted improved pontil with no iron residue |
Structural Condition |
almost perfect - no chips, dings, hairlines, cracks etc. But there is a 1/4" section of the lip that has teeny pecks that you need to feel for. The blob also has a patch of embedded salt crystals, from manufacturing. |
Surface Condition |
I gave this a really quick polish cleaning, so it displays fine. But it retains some spotty scratchiness. scaling, and light haze patches. It could certainly be cleaned better but fine as is in my opinion. |
