Salt-Glazed Mead - Twitchell, Successor to Whittemore

This is a dug stoneware mead from Philadelphia in the hefty quart size. Circa 1855.

Debossed on shoulder:G. S. TWITCHELL / SUCCESSOR TO / C. WHITTEMORE

Height:10"  
Color: tan with beige dimples

Condition: excellent - structurally sound. There are a few faint hairlines on the reverse, mentioned for accuracy. There is a 1/4" inside lip shallow and old cork pry flake. Otherwise, just spotty wear and smudges.
