You gotta love the color variation of these southern sodas! I've never seen this bottle before first hand, nor this color in a soda. The bottle was listed by Russ Butler in deep green (10-308) who valued it at $400-500 awhile back. But he didn't note this off color variation, which is hard to describe. It resembles the peacock green of the Hall's Hair Renewer bottles, but a tad more bluish emerald. The vertical embossing is crisp and the moldmaker had some difficulty fitting it all in because "Grogan" wraps right against the heel. A really cool bottle, possibly unique..
Embossed: (vertical) VAN HARTEN & GROGAN / SAVANNAH GA // (vertical) GINGER ALE
Color: deep peacock-emerald green
Height: 7 1/8"
Top: applied tapered blob
Base: smooth post mold
Structural Condition: perfect structurally - no damage of any sort.
Surface Condition: very clean and it doesn't look like it was ever polish cleaned because it has normal base wear. There is some overall light scratchiness and spotty very light wear, but no high point wear on the embossing.
