Here's a really splendid example of this brightly colored southern soda with an applied tapered blob top. It has loads of hammered whittle in the glass, and the color is very showy. This bottle grabs a lot of attention on the shelf, attracting any light. This is Russ Butler's No. 10-266. When Rusty Frye's collection was auctioned in 2015, the opening bid for his example was $250 with an expected hammer price of $375-475, but I don't have the final sales list.
Embossed: MEINCKE & EBBERWEIN / 1882 / SAVANNAH / GEO. // (vertical) GINGER ALE
Color: rich orange amber
Height: 8 3/8"
Top: applied tapered blob
Base: smooth
Structural Condition: perfect structurally - no damage of any sort. To be really picky, the embossing is a tad light toward the bottom (Geo).
Surface Condition: very clean and was probably lightly polished. There is some spotty light wear around the bottom mainly - again, being picky. The whittle character really dominates.
