Circa 1850 Pontiled New York Soda - Scarce Variant "A. DEARBORN" With MINERAL WATER Reverse
Here's a really attractive NY soda that has many things going for it. First, its the scarce "A. Dearborn" variant. Second, it has lots more embossing than most Dearborn bottles. Third, the embossing is bold except near the bottom of the reverse, whereas most Dearborns tend to have annoyingly faint or light embossing. It's also robust at > 7 1/2" and chunky in the body. Finally, the color is unusual and hard to describe - a steely medium blue with sapphire and lilac tones.

Excellent - possibly lightly polish cleaned at some point. It has minimal wear - just a tad on the high points/embossing. It does have some overall dullness that gives it a "smokey" or glowy vibe, which I like personally - but no stain per se. |
