Amber Umbrella Ink

Circa 1860 Orange-Amber Umbrella Ink

This is a pretty crude 8-sided umbrella ink with a crude rolled lip. It's smooth-based but has nice hammering in the glass. Civil War period - decent character.

Unembossed

Height: 2 3/4"
Color:
deep orange amber

Condition: the bottle doesn't have and chips or dings, but there are a couple faint fissure lines in the lip, not from damage but looks like from cooling during manufacturing - mentioned for accuracy. The other issue is some scaling type wear and overall light scratchiness/dullness. It actually looks cruder with that combined with the hammer whittle.
