This is a circa 1860-1865 NJ slug plate squat, smooth-based, that is priced down for lip chips. It has an open rectangular slug plate just below the name, and it has an applied double taper top.
Embossed: C. B. HALE, // CAMDEN, / N. J.
Height: 6 75/8"
Color: very deep true green
Condition: displays great but it has lip chips on about 2/3 of the lip, as seep as 1/4". It also has a 1/2" shallow base chip. Despite these issues, it displays great and has a nice strike - pretty clean, hardly any wear.
