Chesnut Flask, Circa 1865-1870

These sometimes come with a sand or chip type pontil scar, but I can't really see one here, although the bottom is pushed up. I'm selling as 1870 vintage, but could be Civil War period. In any case, it has nice hammered character in the glass, and a hand applied banded top. Unembossed.

Height:  8 1/2"
Color: deep puce-hued reddish amber

Condition: Attic mint - perfect structurally, clean, virtually no wear except on the base to verify the age.

Reference Number:  D5

Price: $45
