Circa 1855 Pontiled Slug Plate Squat - Jno. Gaffney, Philadelphia
This is a pretty uncommon Philly squat that I had but dug a second one in March, 2021. Thinning my collection of doubles. It has an applied double taper top, and a very light iron pontil mark. Embossed in slug plate: JNO. GAFFNEY / PHIL.A. Height: 7 3/8" Condition: perfect structurally with no chips, dings, cracks or bruises. A dug bottle however, and this one really could use a tumble polish as it has overall stain and swirl etch. The pontil is also very light. Reference Number: SM12 Price: $95 |
