This site was created in 1998 by Danielle Kreeger to sell, trade and buy early American utilitarian glassware. You'll find a list of items for sale and a description of the types of bottles I buy (see to the right).
My focus is on low to moderate priced bottles that are within reach of most collectors. You won't any $1,000+ bottles here, and I suggest checking the main auction houses for high end bottles.
I started digging and collecting antique bottles in 1969 when I lived on a farm. Over the past 20+ years, I've dug over 600 privies. I buy, trade and sell to support my collecting habit. Today, my main interests are pontiled sodas, mineral waters and beers from Philadelphia, although there are other categories that catch my eye too.
I'm always looking for collections to buy (see right panel).
Thanks for visiting my site and please check back for updates.
Sellers - Please contact me if you have bottles to sell, whether just a few or a large collection. Simply text group pics to my cell, 610-329-0055.
I'm only interested in pre-1880 bottles. I do not buy the following:
- Machine made
- Screw top bottles
- Painted label sodas
- Milk bottles
- Unembossed bottles (unless pontiled)
If you have hand blown embossed bottles, feel free to send pictures of singles or groups, either to my email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or text to my phone (610-329-0055).
Construction Crews: Please contact me if you have finds from work sites to sell. Simply text pix to my phone:
Also, if you have active work sites in the Philly area, let me know if you need expert help finishing pits. I have safely dug 600 privies up to 38 feet deep, and I have the right safety equipment and a team of expert diggers.
Property Owners: If you have an older house (pre-1890) and would like help finding and excavating the privy, drop me a line. I can either advise or coordinate a dig. Although many privies were routinely dipped clean, you never know what you'll find. Yards are always left cleaner than before.
